Recommended lubrication amount at the completion of each job:

1. Rotary Roller Bearings 3 shots grease

(Upper and lower)

2. Rotary Idler Bearings 4 shots grease

3. Pinion Idler Bearings 4 shots grease

4. Pinion Bearings 2 shots grease

(Upper and lower)

5. Clutch Shaft Bearings 1 shot grease

6. Motor Mount Housing 10 shots grease

7. Shifting Shaft as required

Farr recommends that the clutch inspection plate should periodically be removed, and a liberal coating of grease

applied to the clutch, drive gears and shifting shaft.

C. ADJUSTMENTS

1. BRAKE ADJUSTMENT

The three manual brake calipers must be adjusted as the brake pads wear. All three calipers must be

adjusted equally in order to ensure uniform wearing of the brake pads, and to ensure smooth and

undeviating rotation of the brake ring.

D. RECOMMENDED PERIODIC CHECKS

1. SHIFTING SHAFT

The shifting yoke is secured to the shifting shaft by one hex jam nut and one locknut on the bottom of

the yoke. Check these nuts after each job. Do this by removing the clutch inspection plate and ensur-

ing a snug fit prior to lubrication.

2. TORQUE GAUGE ASSEMBLY

Periodic calibration of the torque gauge is recommended to assure accurate torque readings. When

having the torque gauge serviced and calibrated, it is important to note the arm length of the tong, as

indicated on page 2.1.

3. BRAKE PADS

Inspect brake pads regularly for cracks, chips, and excessive wear. Replace pads when wear exceeds

50% of their "new" thickness.
